On the 19th of April I was invited along with a few other students to St. Catherine's special school to help prepare the site for our difference day later in the year.
We we were tasked with making the site ready for the new playground to be installed on our difference day. The preparation included setting up frames for swings, filling in concrete to support those swing frames and and laying out the walkway between each feature for the new playground.
It may not sound like much work but the heavy beams and large walkways had us moving concrete and hardcore for two straight days before we were finished.
It it was good to see what our efforts were going into at the school and I can't wait for the day when our whole years goes down to help wrap up the project for St. Catherine's.
May the 4th was the day for the 3 peaked challenge. A sponsored walk from The Sugarloaf to Bray head with the middle peak of the little sudarloaf. All of our sponsor money would go towards our difference day at st Catherine's special school where I got to help prepare the month before.
The bus picked us up from school at 9:30 and dropped us at our first peak the sugarloaf. From there we would walk down into killmacanogue, Up the small sugarloaf back down into Kilruddery before again ascending to our finish on top of bray head.
There was a pit stop in Killmacanogue but also after climbing bray head we walked down to the sea front to get food and icecream before being collected and brought back to school.
I enjoyed the 3 peaks and although I didn't raise money in account of having already begged all of my family and neighbors to sponsor my head shave I still feel I contributed towards the difference day for St. Catherine's after helping prepare the site before hand.
