On the 17th November, my year travelled to Ballymun for the DCU open day. The bus left first thing in the morning and we spent 4 hours at DCU.
Throughout the day there were multiple talks taking place. I went to the talks on Engineering, Biotechnology, Business and Common Entry to Science.
All of talks were kind of the same, giving us an introduction into life at DCU, and we were given a brief insight into what was covered in each course. To be honest I didn’t learn very much.
For me, the enjoyable part of the open day was going around the various stalls in both the science and engineering blocks. In these buildings there was state of the art tiny microchips, 3D printers, Robots, and tesla coils.
The DCU open day wasn't about the various talks, but rather it was being able to see what the students were actually doing ar DCU.
